Aero-News has posted an article in regards to the latest chapter of the ongoing saga of Dave Riggs. Feel free to take a gander.

And even if you have no interest in Riggs..for those pilots out there this is a terrifying concept. Piss someone off, potentially lose your medical. All it takes is an anonymous phone call. No need to show any proof of the accusation, no need to supply any support. This is your government at work folks.

Dave Riggs – pilot

For the complete story of David G. Riggs make sure to read the ENTIRE site.

In the world of the internet one of the most important things is of course, search engine results. Anyone publishing a site that they want to be popular has to know how to get it to rank high in searches. Black hat SEOs (Search Engine Optimization) have all kinds of (temporary) ways to get sites to rank higher. Most are frowned on and only work for a while because the search engine spiders are smart enough to figure them out. Things like keywords, meta tags, hits, etc all lead to higher rankings. This site, for example, ranks pretty high on a lot of different searches. Often, we are only below the LA Times and Aero-News.net. This is understandable since they both have HUGE readership and search engine history. But that’s okay, because the success of this site to date has really been all about word of mouth. That is how the name has passed.

Most sites (with the exception of news sites like those listed above and commercial ones) also have a fairly local reach. Are they available worldwide? Absolutely. But, in general, a small personal site, like this one, which is nothing more than a wordpress blog, are usually only of interest to those within a geographical area important to the subject matter of the site.

So where do the almost 70,000 hits on here come from? Glad you asked. See that nifty little counter that tells me how many hits the site has had also gives me some other information. Location (generic) where the hits come from. If someone does a search on google, yahoo, bing, ask, etc. and then clicks a link it tells me what the search term was. This is helpful to see if people are actually looking for the information here, or just finding us randomly. And example of that is that because we discussed David Riggs’ prison time in Leavenworth, Seagoville and Hong Kong, I get occasional hits where people have searched for those prisons (and usually they are doing image searches).

But I have to say the vast majority end up here finding exactly what they are looking for. “Dave Riggs”. “Dave Riggs pilot”. “David G. Riggs”. “Dave Riggs scam”. “Dave Riggs l-39 fraud”. My personal favorite “Dave Riggs idiot” (yes, someone actually typed that in to Google).

What’s even more interesting is where these hits come from. I will give you just a small example of the ones that have shown up recently (meaning the last day or so). California, Kansas and Florida. These make since because he’s ripped people off and left destruction behind in all three places. But how about Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Brazil, Turkey, Belgium, South Africa, Hong Kong, India, France? That’s just a few. And those ALL came from at least one of the search terms above. They were looking for David. G. Riggs … pilot and criminal.

So what does one do when the search engines are all sending people to a site that tells the truth that you can’t really afford to have people find if you intend to keep doing the things that led to the site to begin with? Well…you do some internet work of your own (or hire someone to do it for you). You start setting up pages anywhere and everywhere. You make sure the meta tags are there (when you can), you make sure the pages have information that will be picked up by the search engines, you get as many as you can. You hit the sites like twitter, and wordpress, and ikarma (a site specifically for “fixing” your internet reputation). And that is exactly what Dave Riggs the pilot has done. No less than six of them showed up the other day. I won’t link to them all here because I really don’t want to give him that much exposure on sites that I feel are totally fabrications. Don’t believe me? Well let me show you the “profile” on one of them.

This comes from IKarma and is set up under Mach One Aviation:

Living life on the fastest of lanes ever conceived by man, David Riggs is a Stunt Pilot extraordinaire who chooses to keep his feet firmly on the ground despite attaining what no other living pilot could ever hope to achieve in a lifetime. He is a Hollywood Movie Producer, Stunt Pilot and World Aviation Speed Record Holder all rolled into one. In addition, he heads Mach One Aviation, Inc., which has capably provided frequent TV and documentary requirements for aerial stunts and aerial photography in different TV and movie projects. As if that weren’t enough, Dave Riggs’ impressive and extensive flight experience with the Soviet L-39 has earned him an unmatched distinction as the only person in history to have set a world aviation record of 561.2 MPH in this former Soviet Jet Fighter. Choosing to live life in his native Los Angeles in a much quieter mode, he listens to jazz music and indulges in his love for reading. That is, if he’s not off supporting his favorite charity, The Fulfillment Fund Children’s Charity, or his favorite non-profit organization, the LAPD Foundation. Wishing to be long-remembered as a man who had the guts to attempt the outrageous and the skills to live through it, Mr. Riggs has indeed done what no other person has even attempted to do—to summon the sense of adventure to fly to Chong Qing, China to stage the UARC/China International Air Races. This singular flying feat he has completed with four other Americans, earning him the distinction of being the first American Pilot since World War to fly from Liam Ping Air Base, home to the American Volunteer Group, The Flying Tigers during World War II.

More than a portion of this is ridiculous. Now suddenly it’s 4 Americans in China..there were 3 that flew. I guess he is counting Gary Thomason as one? Or Chris Rounds’ girlfriend who was there on the promoters dime without him knowing it? And still claiming it’s a UARC event? Really? And his “favorite non profit” the LAPD Foundation? Well he has always claimed he’s good friends with the Los Angeles Chief of Police Charlie Beck. Including claiming to have his personal cell phone. It wouldn’t be the first time that a con man was able to make friends with law enforcement, to give themselves some sort of protection.

Oh and do you LOVE the “native Los Angeles” line? He’s not a native of Los Angeles. And he’s living a quieter life for one reason only..he’s having a lot more trouble getting anyone to deal with him here than he was a couple years ago when he was the high flying Hollywood Top Gun.

This is actually the least ridiculous of the “profiles” floating around. Each one makes more and more claims. Each one takes a step further from reality. Although each does remain along the same lines as this.

Dave Riggs’ attempt to fix his “online reputation”. Dave seems to know and understand that as long as the truth is out there he is going to have to keep fighting to cover it up. But thanks to the internet he’s going to have more and more trouble doing so.

And here’s another clue as to what he’s up to. On the Linked In page it suddenly lists Mach One Aviation as being in Mountain View (the San Francisco Bay Area). Hmmm..what happened to that “world headquarters” he had in Los Angeles. Oh yeah. Post Office Box. Those are pretty easy to move. And if you check the corporation records in Nevada (where Mach One has been registered) it is now in default.

And just for fun, go ahead and look at this one where the VERY FIRST LINE is a lie (he doesn’t have a degree in anything, he’s a high school dropout). And his claim to the “unwavering commitment to upholding integrity” is seriously enough to make a person want to buy him a dictionary.

Definition of INTEGRITY
1
: firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values : incorruptibility

Riggs you wouldn’t know integrity if it walked up and introduced itself.

Update

There was a status hearing yesterday. The quick version…

On November 17th Riggs was released from Jail. On January 17th it was reported that he has completed 4 of the 60 days community labor. That means he has 4 months to complete the other 56 days.

THAT means…

head on over to Santa Monica Pier on at least half the days until May and you just may see him down there toiling away. To finish 56 days in 120..he’s going to basically have to be there every other day at minimum to finish it up.

There will be another status hearing on March 7th.

It seems that he still hasn’t manned up to take care of his obligations. No real surprise there.

And P.S.

To the asshat that left the comment that you rightly assumed I would not approve. I’m not sure how many fucking times I can say this..so I’ll print it slow and explain it like you’re a 2 year old and maybe you’ll understand.

As for the rest of your comment. I’d suggest you check your sources. Their information is incorrect.
I do hope you enjoy your stay at the Salt Lake City Courtyard (Marriott). Downtown Salt Lake is nice as I remember it.
Thanks for playing! Please drive through.

We’re back

3 days down..no fun!

Apparently there was a ginormous DDOS attack on the shared server that our site resides on and it took the webhost about 72 hours to get it back under control.

All should be good now. If you speak to anyone who is still having trouble accessing the site please tell them to either clear their browser cache or reboot their computer and try again. A new IP was assigned to the server and from what I understand could still cause problems. I had to reboot my computer and then it was all fine.

Thanks for your patience.
